If you’ve found your way to this site, you may discover something new—perhaps a condition you’ve never heard of, or something that helps you better understand what you or a loved one is facing.
Here, you’ll find excerpts from my autobiography, originally written for my grandchildren. Along the way, I realized that if I could make my story engaging and honest, others might also find comfort, insight, or meaning in my life’s lessons.
I write openly about many health challenges I have faced, including an anencephalic pregnancy, dermatomyositis, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, fibromyalgia, thyroid cancer, spinal stenosis, and others.
I also share my thoughts and experiences around deeply personal and often difficult subjects such as suicide, drug and alcohol addiction, cancer, sexual abuse, COVID-19, living a chemical-free life, grief, and spirituality.
Living with a disability can change a person in profound ways. It can be painful and limiting—but it can also invite deeper self-reflection and inspire the changes that truly matter.
This is the story of how I transformed my way of living through self-education, resilience, and by welcoming spirituality into my heart and soul.
