Birth of 2nd son - 1990

Our second son was born on July 3rd, 1990. I had gestational diabetes and had to go for more blood work and ultrasounds than usual because they worried the baby could be too large. Still, he was the perfect size when he was born. He was 7lbs 6ounces and a happy little guy.

My daughter and son were now in school, giving me more alone time with the baby. I enjoyed that time!

My older sons transition to Kindergarten was not an easy one. It all started with the school bus not showing up on his first day, and then it went downhill from then on. He would not take the school bus. I would push him into the bus with him screaming, and he would cry all the way to school and at school. The teacher would call, and then I started driving him and staying at the school while he was there, which was not easy because I had a baby. Finally, the principal made a deal with him. If he took the school bus for a week without any issues, he would bring him to McDonald's for lunch. He decided it was a good deal and got to go to McDonalds with him. There were days that he still gave me a hard time, but it got better.

The kids shared a bedroom. We bought them some bunkbeds, and they liked that. The baby was now in the smaller bedroom, but I knew this arrangement could not last forever, especially since the two boys were 5 years apart. I could not imagine a 5 and 10-year-old sharing the same room, so we decided to sell the house and purchase a larger one where everyone could have their own room.
